Paris Surf & Skate Film Festival

I don’t need to tell you what a mess this whole COVID-19 situation has made of the world, and no more so than in the film industry with productions halted, cinemas closed and film festivals across the world cancelled.

A bit of light in the darkness is that Rom Boys has been selected for the Paris Surf & Skateboard Film Festival at the end of September.

Here’s what they said about the film:

“Heavy history at Rom! As long time skateboarders, we really liked it and totally related to a lot of the stories and feelings the guys share: the community, the home away from home, Great work!! 👌👌👌👌”

To date the festival is still going ahead, but in such uncertain times who knows anything any more ?!

Of course we’d love to see the film on a big screen as that’s where dreams are made, right ? Rom also deserves that big screen experience to really show off its legendary concrete contours and transitions.

So fingers crossed this will go ahead and if anyone fancies a quick trip on the Eurostar to escape lockdown it would be great to see you there. It looks like a great event, Dogtown legend Tony Alva was there last year.

We’re hoping to get a home London and UK festival screening, but that’s still up in the air for obvious reasons (It’s also due to play at another festival in Europe at the end of the year, but we’ll keep you posted on that) If that doesn’t happen then the film will be released digitally worldwide by 1091 Pictures some time in the Autumn.

We’ll have exact dates nearer the time.

We’ve also got a Hollywood based publicity company on board to secure interviews, press releases and reviews in all the big movie press before launch – so we’re doing our absolute best to get the Rom story out there to the big wide world.

They said about the film :

“This is real solid – very, very good flick.”

And finally thanks for the ongoing support to all the social media likes and mentions, please carry on, the success of the film and the future of the park are both intertwined and we need as much community support as we can get to keep the Rom dream alive for the next generation 👊
